A vegetal story

The saffron, the most expensive spice in the world

CROCUS SATIVUS, IRIDACEAE

Saffron is a cultivated plant which grows in an opposite time than other plants because it flowers in fall. It doesn’t grow in nature because it multiplicates itself by the division of bulbs and not with seeds. With Eastern origin, it has spread in the whole mediterranean area. It is a plant with ancient medicinal and culinary uses, cultivated since Antiquity in East and West. It is also the most expensive spice in the world. Used for its aroma in meals and sauces, also for its colour, it has become a tinctorial plant well known and used not only for textils, in painting, but also in make-up (in India and in Morocco for example).

Because skin loses gradually its capacity to keep a firming aspect with ageing is sometimes tired, it is necessary to stimulate it. For a firmer skin, more resistant, which keeps a natural tension longer.

How it works

Fiber Booster Plus Saffron: firming skin in a focused and a global way

Fiber Booster Plus Saffron increases the production of the synthesis of dermis fibres, collagens, and proteoglycans, made by fibroblasts. Those different fibres, which shape a kind of complex interlacing around cells, constitute the supporting mattress of skin. In the same time, it also decreases the production of the enzyme responsible for the destruction of those fibres and glycoproteins. And to complete its anti-ageing effect, it protects epidermis skin cells against free radicals made both through skin biochemical reactions and environment (especially UVB).

Thanks to those actions, the extra cellular matrix keeps a complex aspect and can keep playing its part, by supporting skin.
